Park City or Bust

Mike and I decided that we would like to take our family somewhere special this year. We picked a resort in Park City where Mike and I had gone for a get away. The accomodations were wonderful and somewhat affordable.

Our family loves the outdoors, (ie. hiking, biking, etc.) so we thought this might be a fun place to go. They told us about a bike trail that would take you right in to Park City and some trails that were close around. We were really excited. We invited both Mike and I's parents to join us as well. We were sad that Mike's Dad couldn't come as he was having problems with his back.

Friday we headed to Park City to check in to the hotel. We stopped on our way there at the Taggart grill just above Morgan. The atmosphere and food was delicious. If you have never tried it I would recommend it.

After checking in and getting settled, the girls and I did a little shopping at the outlets and then headed back for dinner. We then all dooned our swimming suits and headed down to the pool to play. The weather was a little cool and rainy but the pool was both indoors and outdoors. So we could enjoy both. There was a lot of fun had by everyone. Annie and Daxton weren't able to join us in the both because Daxton hadn't been feeling very good during the week. They were good sports about it though.

After the little ones were in bed the adults played a game of "Ticket to Ride". It is a really fun game and has become a family favorite. We do enjoy playing games together!

Things changed that night however, with Alan, my dad and myself waking up in the night sick!!

I felt so bad because I was sooooo excited to share this time with my family. Kevin, Annie and Daxton had been sick the week before so we weren't sure if it was a shared flu or the food. We came to the conclusion that it was a flu bug that we were just sharing quickly with one another.

Saturday got off to a slow start because of the evening prior. Amanda, Kevin, and Tiff did make it down to the excercise room for a nice workout however.

We did go over and check out the Olympic park and watched some kids skiing into the pool and riding the zipline. After lunch, those that were feeling all right decided to check out the bike trail. The rest of us rested. Alan gave it a try but came back feeling even worse. We gave him some advil and left him to rest while the rest of us went out to dinner at the Red Rock Brewery.

When then came back and celebrated Kevin's birthday ( a little late) with gifts and Ice Cream cake from Coldstone Creamery. Despite the sickness and weather we still managed to have a great day.

Two more of us fell victim to the flu on Saturday. Heidi and Scott both woke early to flu symptoms. After letting them relax, while the others had another game of "Ticket to Ride". We had a small program where the little girls danced for us and after some coaxing convinced Grandpa Great to dance too. We then cleaned up and headed back home.

The flu didn't end with the vacation. It struck Hallie that evening and then Amanda the next day. We definitely are a close family. We LOVE to share EVERYTHING!!! (the good and the bad).
